Disruption Before Revelation

We’ve officially launched our new sermon series, Encounters With Jesus, walking through the Gospel of Mark and exploring how real encounters with Jesus transform lives.

In this opening message, Pastor Thomas Cornette unpacks Mark’s introduction of Jesus as the Messiah and challenges us to wrestle with one of the most important questions we will ever face: Who do you believe Jesus is?

Through the ministry of John the Baptist and the baptism of Jesus, we see that encountering Christ often begins with disruption. Just like a doctor must reveal a diagnosis before healing can begin, Jesus confronts our hearts so that restoration can follow. But unlike someone shouting instructions from a distance, Jesus steps directly into the waters with us.

This message reminds us that Jesus is not “business as usual.” When heaven tore open at His baptism, it revealed that every encounter with Him demands a response.
